Manual Therapy

Manual therapy, or soft tissue mobilization, has been used for centuries to treat many different ailments.

In physical therapy we use massage to increase circulation to an area, mobilize joints, loosen tight muscles, relieve pain and relax areas of high tension on patients. Therapists use their hands and upper body strength to perform massage. Often times the therapist will use their thumbs, fingers, knuckles, fists and even elbows depending on the area they are working on or the depth the patient prefers. The results of manual therapy are incredibly healing as well as relaxing and our patients can’t seem to get enough of the one-on-one experience with our treating therapists.

Manual therapy is an effective treatment for a multitude of conditions, such as:

  • Muscle strains
  • Joint spains
  • Trigger points
  • Acute or chronic muscular spasms
  • Tennis or golfer’s elbow
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Delayed onset muscle soreness
